ECDVC holds Ribbon Cutting for Evans Harmony House
A dream long in the making has come to fruition for the Elmore County Domestic Violence Council as the organization celebrates the completion of the county’s first safe house for the victims of domestic violence.
The six bedroom facility has a state of the art kitchen, living area, sitting room, laundry facility, offices for staff, a children’s playroom and a conference room for support group meetings.
It is important to note that even though the facility is for women and their children, the organization offers help for male victims as well, in the form of motel vouchers.
For Executive Director Kimberly Middleton it was an emotionally overwhelming day as many of the people and organizations that had helped complete her and the Board of Directors dream of bringing the facility to Elmore County came together to commemorate everyone’s hard work and dedication.
