MHHS Novice Debaters turn in strong showing at Borah Novice Tournament

Another new group of first-time debaters at Mountain Home High School turned in a strong performance last Friday at the Borah Novice Debate Tournament in Boise as half of the 16 teams turned in a 3-1 record or better at the tournament. The Novice Talkin’ Tigers were led by the Public Forum team of Krysten Hope and Andrea Morales who won all four of their debates to earn a First Place Medal.

The teams of Allie Reid and Jaden Roldan along with Edward Blake and Michael Dickins finished with three wins and a loss in Public Forum Debate.

In Lincoln Douglas Debate, five Talkin’ Tigers finished with a three wins and one loss record. Lillian Nhok, Olivia Peter, Jaidyn Bruner, Hallie Goldthorpe and Lydia Stults lost only one of four rounds.

Bruin Walling, Caoillainn Warren, Liliana Martinez, Alma Hernandez, Michael Nordin, Kilayisha Legroone, Henry Patrick, Lee Clemens and Kirah Hoffman were also competing in their first debate tournament ever at the Borah Novice event.
