MHAC bring The Rice Brothers to the community

Saturday, October 12, 2019
Brothers Johnny and Chris Rice each play the piano and the cello during their performances.

Johnny and Chris Rice are Polish-American musicians who travel extensively from coast-to-coast. They have played such venues as Carnegie Hall and in cities such as Chicago, Phoenix and Los Angeles. Internationally they have had the honor of playing for such events as the World Music Day Celebration where they played on the streets of Warsaw for eight hours straight.

On Wednesday, Oct. 9, they brought their talents to the community of Mountain Home on the behalf of the Mountain Home Arts Council.

The two hour event saw them playing a mix of musical genres, including classical arrangements such as Hungarian Rhapsody to the Stars and Stripes and even a piece by Jerry Lee Lewis and a piece that they had performed at its American Debut at Carnegie Hall for a friend who is a European Composer.

It was a crowd of all ages, with everyone having a great time. On Tuesday, Oct. 8 the brothers also put on a performance at Mountain Home Junior High School mixing their music with an educational element for the students.
