Sgt. Brian Fields and Elmore County Sheriff Mike Hollinshead greet each other during a fundraising car wash on Aug. 24.

On Saturday, Aug. 24, the Elmore County Sheriff’s office held a car wash at Mudslingers Coffee to help raise money for Sgt. Brian Fields who was recently injured in an off-duty motorcycle accident resulting in a loss of a limb. They received a total of $3, 854.80 and washed 167 vehicles. During the event Mudslingers also held a raffle and the staff donated all of their tips for the day. All proceeds from the event go to Brian and his family to help cover medical expenses.

On Sept. 13, the Masonic Lodge will be hosting the Guns and Hoses Softball Tournament at Optimist Park at 6 p.m. The game which is a ‘friendly’ competition between the fire department and law enforcement will be played in Fields honor this year, with proceeds from the event going to him. The community is encouraged to come out for the game which is sure to entertain while helping a great cause.
