First Recovery Club Opens its Doors

The new sober recovery club in Mountain Home has a wide range of snacks and drinks available including: soda, coffee, tea and candy. Once a month they will provide a free dinner to their members.

On Saturday, Aug. 10, the 7/11 Recovery Club of Elmore County opened its doors to the public for an open house and meet and greet as it becomes the first sober club in Elmore County.

Several club members got up to speak about what this club means to them and the community. Christopher Filer-President; Earl Pineo-Club Manager; Kole Weaver-Activities Director; Christy Tracey- Financial Officer/ Drug Court Liason; Floyd Beck-Property Investor; Doug Holmes-CEO and Roger Hesler-Vice President, were among some of the speakers for the event.

Floyd Beck, Property Investor, said about five to six people had come to him looking for a building for the 7/11 club, but there were not any available buildings he could find. Two weeks after that the Knights of Columbus approached Mr. Beck about selling their building and that’s how the club came to get the building.
