Walmart recently awarded the Mountain Home Historical Society $500 to help with preservation of historical negatives. The funds will help restore fragile historical negatives and have them digitized and preserved. Examples of some of the negatives will include a fading negative of Kitty Wilkins (Horse Queen of Idaho) a variety of negatives of early Mountain Home, Atlanta, Rocky Bar, and Glenns Ferry, plus much more. A portion of the funds will also be used to help purchase class room materials that are used for the free historical classes to the public.

“We are extremely thankful to Walmart for helping us protect these valuable historical negatives and supporting our historical classes.”

“Walmart is a great community asset to Mountain Home and we appreciate their support of the Museum.” stated director Debbie Shoemaker.
