STIs: A troubling and under-discussed public health concern affecting our community

Food poisoning, flu season, and West Nile virus are often the source of cautionary stories shared across the water cooler or social media. While unfortunate, these experiences typically make for easy and comfortable conversation between friends, co-workers, and neighbors. But a host of other health impacting topics are not always as easy to get the conversation started on, much less keep going.

Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are on the rise nationally, and Idaho counties, including Elmore, are no exception.
