James Robert Urps

James Robert Urps, age 59, passed away after a courageous two-year battle with cancer, at his home in King Hill, on Saturday, July 6, 2019 surrounded by his family. A Celebration of Life, with Dewey Crane officiating, will be held at 11am on Saturday, July 20,, 2019 at Glenns Ferry City Park, 509 W. Idaho Ave., Glenns Ferry. A potluck will follow until 2pm. We can reminisce, grieve, support each other and, of course, just chat. Cremation was under the care of Rost Funeral Home in Mountain Home.

James was born on April 19, 1960 in Mountain Home AFB, to Bob and Janis (Hurd) Urps. He was a graduate of Glenns Ferry High School, Class of 1978.

James met the love of his life, Sandra Jean Trimble Hinton and they married on June 18, 1988. Sandy’s children were accepted as his own from the beginning. They have made their home in King Hill for many years. James loved working outdoors, his yard, chickens, pets, NASCAR, The Seattle Seahawks, and he loved fishing.

James worked for several companies over the years. For the last three years he worked for Snake River Rubbish LLC. The family would like to thank Dewey Crane for his kindness and support.

James is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Sandy; stepchildren, Tanya (Don) Schwendiman, Tom (Jeanette) Hinton, Tim Hinton, and Alberta Hall; eleven grandchildren; two sisters, Estelle (Jim) Thomas, Margaret (Maggie) Ransom; and Rex Green. James was preceded in death by his parents, and a nephew.
