Celebrating 50 years together

Tuesday, July 9, 2019

Larry & Betty Mangini met in Mountain Home, Idaho in 1968. On July 12th, 1969, they married in Boise, Idaho at the little white church off of Broadway by BSU stadium known as Christ’s Chapel. The bride’s father, the late Rev. Theodore Silva Sr. performed the small ceremony. They moved out of state shortly thereafter and were gone for two and half-years. They returned to Mountain Home in 1972 and have lived there ever since. In 1980, the couple started their own business, "The Moth Shop", which they owned and operated for twenty-six years. Throughout those years, the couple not only sold used and new furniture, and various other things, Larry also became a highly trained appliance repairman. He was well-known, and liked, by many of the Mountain Home residents. In what little “free” time they had, they loved to fish and hunt. They retired in 2006 and traveled to Hawaii, Italy, and California to visit family. Together, Larry and Betty have four children, nine grandchildren, & eight great-grandchildren. And they’ve enjoyed every minute they’ve ever spent with them.

Larry & Betty divulged their feelings to their daughter, Charm, saying, "We love each other now as much, if not more, than we did in 1969." They are one another's best friend, and credit Jesus’ endless love and amazing grace for not only the extreme privilege of spending fifty wonderful years together, but for the strength to endure the pain, sorrow, and tribulations life has, at times, brought them. Even though they are slowed by age and illness, they are grateful for having reached this huge milestone. Both agree that if a romantic “Happily Ever After" does exist, they found it. There love is timeless. Their friends know it. Their family knows it. And both family and friend feel blessed to have witnessed true love’s existence manifested throughout Larry and Betty’s marriage.

The family will be celebrating 50 years with a Renewal of Vows in a private ceremony surrounded by family and friends.

If you would like to congratulate the couple cards can be sent to 1165 North Haskett Steet Mountain Home, ID.
