WECRD guest speaker is excited about project

On Wednesday June 26, the Western Elmore County Recreation District met for their monthly meeting.

The WECRD board introduced Carleen Herring, President of Region IV Development, as the guest speaker. Herring had spoken with the board previously about the indoor pool facility and she offered to come to a meeting and answer question since there is no region development board for Elmore County. The Board presented Herring with the history of the indoor pool project and asked for some insight on fundraising and grants. Several foundation members were in attendance and asked Herring questions on how to get fundraising going in the community. After hearing the history and knowing where the aquatic center is for development, engineering and finances she was very excited and felt like the project and the board is headed in the right direction.
