Twenty years ago in history: A bank robber struck in Mountain Home

Wednesday, June 12, 2019

In the June 23, 1999 issue of the Mountain Home News a story about First Interstate Bank being robbed was front page news.

The bank, which was in the building that Wells Fargo now occupies, was robbed by a lone individual who gave a note to the bank teller.

The contents of that note were not disclosed at that time, but it was "threatening enough that there was a perception that some harm could be done," said then bank manager Mike Miller.
