Lady Tigers compete at State Basketball Tournament

Thursday, February 21, 2019
On the Morning of Feb. 14 the MHHS Girl’s Basketball team was sent off to state in style with Mayor Rich Sykes, members of the MHFD, MHPD and the Elmore County Sheriff’s Office family and friends all gathering at Mountain Home High School to see the girls off for the first round of the state tournament.

The Mountain Home High School Girls Basketball team had a season to remember.

The girls started off the season 8-0 before suffering their first loss over a month into the regular season with a loss at Minico. The girls went on to have a successful regular season and a great run in the District Tournament.

After clinching a chance to go to the state tournament in a nail biter of a game against Burley in the District tournament the girls were back in action on Feb. 14.

In the first round of the state tournament the Lady Tigers took on the #1 seed Middleton Vikings of District 3. In a heartbreaker of a game the girls lost 44-36.

They still had a chance to make their way through the consolation bracket in a game against the Blackfoot Broncos.
