Schossow to be arraigned in District Court

Thursday, February 7, 2019

A preliminary hearing was held in the state's case against Gerry Schossow on Jan. 30.

Schossow is currently out on bond on charges of willfully possessing or accessing sexually exploitative material of a child, enticing a runaway and providing shelter to a runaway.

During the preliminary hearing, the prosecution called Elmore County Sheriff's Office Sergeant Nick Griffin to the witness stand. Sgt. Griffin testified to an incident in early September of last year when he was contacted about the case of a runaway juvenile girl. The call had originally gone to Deputy Patterson, but he made Sgt. Griffin aware of the case when he learned of another runaway report that had been filed about the juvenile from Iowa.

After the Sergeant and Patterson recovered the juvenile, Griffin engaged in a conversation with her that led him to viewing a string of facebook messages and photos that concerned him and was told the defendant had screen shots of the same photos and texts. He then received and executed a search warrant on the property of Schossow in which multiple electronic devices were collected.
