Blake Watson was chosen as Man of the Year for 2018 for the work that he does as the Business and Community Development Officer for Idaho Power, including sponsoring events and helping groups get grants and as a member of the Military Affairs Committee. Paula Szafranski was chosen as Woman of the Year for the work she puts into events that include the Festival of Beer and the Light the Forest decorations each holiday season.

The Mountain Home Chamber of Commerce held its annual installation banquet dinner over the weekend. During the annual meeting newly elected officers and incoming chamber directors were sworn in, while attendees dined at tables decorated by different community businesses. Businesses were presented with awards in multiple categories for decorations at the end of the night with some of categories being voted on by attendees.

For the past three years Mayor Rich Sykes has handed out the Mayor’s Citizen of the Year Award during the banquet instead of giving the usual State of the City address. For the full story, pick up a copy of the Mountain Home News or click on this link to subscribe to the newspaper's online edition.
