City Council and URA discuss plans for The Hub

The Mountain Home City Council met on Dec. 10. After the meeting was called to order New Police Chief Scott Conner was sworn into office. Conner thanked the mayor and went on to say he has an open door policy for anyone with questions. Conner is coming here from New Mexico and has 20 plus years of law enforcement experience.

Mayor Rich Sykes also recognized Patrolman of the year Ron Hurley; Officer of the year Sgt. Russel Griggs and Detective of the year Lawrence Saterfield.

During the portion of the meeting for recognizing people in the audience Rhonda Lynn O’Hanley spoke about how proud she is of Mountain Home and its multiple departments. She went on to say family comes first and she recommended the council put city employees on shifts working four 10 hour shifts and having three days off.

Item four on the agenda was the presentation by the Urban Renewal Agency for the old Hub parking lot.
