Fire Department holds annual open house

Families load onto a fire engine for a ride around the neighborhood with some help from two local firemen.

Each year on the Thursday during National Fire Prevention week the Mountain Home Fire Department opens the doors to Fire Station #1. There the firemen and other local emergency response agencies greet the community while educating young and old alike.

On Oct. 11 people lined up for the yearly event. The crowds were large all night long as people waited in lines where they were served hot dogs and milk and Sparky the Fire Dog and members of both law enforcement and the fire department visited with children and handed out stickers.
