Paul Robert Mott 84, passed away, August 31, 2018. Paul was born in Norwalk, California in 1933 to Thelma and Paul Mott. He grew up in Taft, California with his parents and brother Jack. In his youth he shared a passion for building and racing boats with his father. He graduated from Excelsior High School in 1951. He liked to remind people the school was the model for Rydell High School from the movie Grease.

Paul married Doreen Kuckartz, September 11, 1954 in Denver, Colorado. Together they had six children. Doreen passed away in 1969. Paul married Marie Walsh, May 4, 1970 in Denver, Colorado. She brought seven children to combine their family. Together they had a son, Steven Mott who completed the family.

Paul had a distinguished career in the Air Force. He joined in 1953 and achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant within 3 years. During his 31 year career he traveled the world. He served in Colorado, Florida, Texas, Philippines, Korea, Illinois, Taiwan, Idaho, California and Vietnam. Paul retired in 1984 as a Chief Master Sergeant and was the Senior Enlisted advisor at Mountain Home Air Force Base. Military awards included The Meritorious Service Medal with One Oak Leaf Cluster, The Air Force Commendation Medal with Two Oak Leaf Clusters and the Air Force Outstanding Airman of the Year Ribbon.

After Paul’s retirement he worked as a Real Estate Agent for Mountain Home Agency, working with John and Claude Bermensolo. In his 8 year career he earned top sales multiple times. He was proud of the homes he helped design and build.

Paul was active in many civic and community organizations, including The Military Affairs Committee and The Chamber of Commerce. In his later years, he served for a time as president of the local Senior Citizen Center.

Paul also recommitted himself to God and became first a Deacon and then an ordained Priest in the Old American Catholic Church starting in October, 2001. He married numerous people and enjoyed counseling and learning about the couples prior to their wedding.

Paul also lived in London with his wife Marie and son Steve when she was stationed there with the American Red Cross.

Paul was predeceased by his youngest son Steven Mott (Jennifer, Dylan, Desiree, Aimee, Emilee). He will be greatly missed by those he left behind. His devoted wife Marie, son John Mott (Cindy, Joshua, Daniel, Melissa) Paul Mott (Terry), Annie Belfiore (Rich, Jesse, Chad), Mike Lancaster (Kathy, Natalie, Jake), Pat Lancaster (Tuesdi, Shane, Dan, Katie), Bill Lancaster (Donna, Jesse, Perry, Joseph, Sarah), Tim Lancaster (Ellen, Annie, David), Roberta Zizik (Joe, Kristina, Justin, Melanie), Jake Lancaster (Sandy, Kara, Donna, Brittney, Rebekka, Brandon), Marie Politano (Steven, Shain), Robert Mott (Lara, Jared), Christopher Mott, Chris Lancaster (Cindy, Jaden, Cole) and numerous great grandchildren. Services were held at Our Lady of Good Council Catholic church in Mountain Home. He was buried at Idaho Veteran’s Cemetery with full Military Honors. Arrangements were under the care of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.

A heartfelt thank you is sent out to all the nurses and staff at St. Luke’s Elmore Hospital in Mountain Home. The care and compassion shown Paul and his family was above and beyond and greatly appreciated. Thank you to Jennifer Stephens who for a time was his caregiver.
