Mountain Home says Thank you and Goodbye

Wednesday, July 25, 2018

With a large crowd gathered to wish Former Mountain Home Police Chief Nick Schilz a happy retirement on July 20, Lieutenants Fuentes, Cobos and Harmon present their former chief with a shadow box from the department. He was also given a wooden cut-out of the state of Idaho with "Thin Blue LIne" on the front and the signatures of members of the department on the back.

Many people and organizations showed up to bid farewell to a chief who had spent 37 years in law enforcement in Elmore County. It was a mixture of emotions as people were happy to see the chief head off to spend more time with his family, but tears came to the eyes of many as they spoke of how much he had meant to them and taught them over his years of service. The "100" balloons in the background depict the chief's call number. Happy retirement Chief Schilz.
