Donda Varela

It is with great sadness that the family of Donda Varela announces her passing on May 22, 2018, at the young age of 56. She fought a long battle with cancer. A memorial service is being planned for the week of June 15th. More info to follow.

Born to Carlos and Ethel “Bo” Stinnett in 1961, in Homestead, Florida. She was raised in the Air Force and as a child she lived in places like Germany, Washington D.C. and Tennessee and graduated high school in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Class of 1981. After high school she moved to Mountain Home, Idaho where she met the love of her life, Gilberto V. Varela. They shared 36 happy years of marriage. They started a family and raised 4 beautiful children. During 25 of those years she ran Carlos’ Mexican Restaurant with her family.

She loved art, collecting antiques, reading, gardening and traveling to Mexico to visit her in-laws.

She will be remembered for being a wonderful grandmother to her 2 grandchildren; Kole and CeCe. She was a rock to her family.

Donda is survived by her husband Gilberto, her sons Roman and his wife Jae, Mateo and his wife Amanda, Lucas and his wife Jordan, her daughter Pilar and her husband Garrett, two grandchildren, her father Carlos Stinnett, a sister Kimberly Hartman and her brother Victor Stinnett. She joins her mother Ethel “Bo” Stinnett in eternal rest in Heaven.
