Eugenia Gerald Landon

Eugenia “Jean” Landon passed away Sunday May 27, 2018. She was a long time resident of Mountain Home.

Jean was born in Columbia, South Carolina March 29, 1923 to Charles Hammond and Eugenia Reily Gerald. She was the second of two children with older brother Charles. She attended Columbia High school in Charleston, and then went on to Charleston College.

She met George Clifton Salvo and they were married in 1941. They were stationed around the world with the Air Force and during that time she had two children, a son Gerry and a daughter Ginger.

She and Cliff divorced in 1967 and she met Joseph Albert Landon and they married in 1969. She and Abb were married 20 years prior to his death in 1989. In her own words she said, “I have lived alone for 20 years, my children are grown and gone and I have some very fine friends, I have truly been blessed all my life”.

Jean is survived by her two children, 11 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 12 great great-grandchildren.

Jean will be laid to rest in Mountain View Cemetery next to her husband Abb Landon on June 5, 2018, at 11:00AM. Arrangements are under the care of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.
