On April 20, 2018, Wilbur Eugene Jeffrey (AKA: Jeff) changed his address from Mountain Home, Idaho to heaven.

Wilbur was born to Jessie Belle Crumbo and Wilbert Monroe Jeffrey on Oct. 25, 1932 in Coffeyville, Kansas. His brother Monroe Edwin Jeffrey (age 75) resides in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

Wilbur married the love of his life (his anchor) Helga Kerber July 3, 1964 in Offenbach, Germany. Wilbur and Helga moved to North Highlands, California and raised four daughters together: Diana Witten (Mountain Home), Angela Ford (Grass Valley, CA), Carolyn Hill (Rocklin, CA) and Wendy Kendall.

Wendy and Helga preceded Wilbur in death in 2008 and 2009 respectively.

Wilbur was blessed with seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1950 to 1973. He was a crew chief assigned to AFLC and was nicknamed "Wingwarper" while repairing the lateral roll control of fixed wing aircraft.

He retired in 1973 earning the rank of Master Sergeant. After retirement, he started a business (Jeff's Locksmiths) in North Highlands, California and retired (again) in 1996.

In 2010, Wilbur moved from North Highlands, California and made Mountain Home his "forever home".

Wilbur (a life member of the NRA) is responsible for starting numerous Air Force pistol teams while stationed in Germany and the U.S. He was awarded the U.S. Air Force distinguished pistol shooting medal for his marksmanship ability.

He loved taking classes at Gunsite (Paulden, AZ), shooting new guns at the range, communicating with "The Ravens", travelling in his RV, flying his plane, listening to jazz and music by Andre Rieu and spending time with his daughters. He looked forward to coffee with good friends sharing life's analogies along the way.

Wilbur enlisted to the following philosophies as exemplified by his life: "Life is like a book: There is a beginning, a middle and an end", "Don't wait for something to happen - go out and get it", " Life is a gift to you. The way you live your life is your gift to those who come after. Live it well", and "Be wise like the raven and never surrender".

Wilbur Jeffrey never surrendered.

Funeral services are scheduled for May 2, 2018 at the Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, in Mountain Home at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Dixon, California at the National Cemetery where he will join his wife, Helga.

In lieu of flowers, donations (in memory of Wilbur Jeffrey) can appreciatively be made to the Gunsite Scholarship Fund, Gunsite Academy, 2900 W. Gunsite Rd. Paulden, AZ 86334.
