Business owners have mixed feelings about downtown plan

Wednesday, April 11, 2018

After the City of Mountain Home unveiled their plans for a revitalization of downtown there has been concern on the part of business owners and community members.

The plan would take away a lane of traffic on each of the one way streets and parking along one side of each of the roads. Additions to the area will include a bike lane and a linear garden.

The removal of parking is being required by Idaho Department of Transportation who owns 2nd Street and Main Street. According to city officials parking is not allowed on any highway and when they started planning the revitalization they had to negotiate to keep any parking on the streets.
