George passed away peacefully March 22, 2018 in Meridian, Idaho.

He was born in Newburyport, Massachusetts on Nov. 19, 1932 to Dorothy W. Currier and the late George Sr. After graduating from Newburyport High School, George enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1951. Shortly after enlisting, he married Marilyn R. Rogers at Sampson AFB, NY.

While on active duty, George and his family traveled throughout the US and the Asian Pacific, including Guam which he especially loved. He is both a Korean era and Vietnam veteran.

One of his last duty stations was Mtn. Home AFB (which both he and Marilyn fell in love with) so they made it their home, and George retired as a SMSGT in 1974. George then began his second career as a furniture mover and truck driver for Allied Van Lines where he worked for another 20+ years.

One of his favorite pastimes was to go firewood cutting in the hills in his '69 Toyota Landcruiser. He also loved planning many road trips and was a very good tour guide if you were lucky enough to go with him.

George retired in 1996, and they moved to Meridian, Idaho, where he continued his passion for projects and tinkering in his shop, traveling by RV, visiting friends and family, touring Europe, and enjoying winters in Florida.

George was predeceased by his parents, his brother Robert, his wife of 62 years, Marilyn, and his sons, Charles and Steven.

He leaves behind two sons, David (Terri Lee) and Michael (Lisa), and his daughter-in-law, Rowena, along with 16 grandchildren,17 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren

A military service will be held at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery on April 6 at 11 a.m. to honor his life. The family wishes to thank all the nurses and caregivers at Touchmark Assisted Living and Keystone Hospice for their outstanding service and care.
