Above: A mother explains to her child the difference between types of soil at the community STEAM night last Wednesday. Families throughout Mountain Home gathered to introduce their children to various aspects of STEAM, which is short for science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics.

Courtesy of the University of Idaho Elmore County Extension Office, students were able to examine different types of bugs, including cockroaches, as well as learn about the bugs' habitat.
