Riggs now bound over to district court for second arraignment

Part two of the preliminary hearing in State of Idaho vs. Scott Eugene Riggs commenced on Feb. 27.

During this hearing, the state called forth seven witnesses, including multiple law enforcement officials and one employee of a local pawn shop.

When given an opportunity to call forth witnesses, the defense declined.

During it's closing argument, the state gave a brief synopsis of the evidence brought forth to show the burden of proof was met.

The defense countered this in its own closing argument, stating the suspected murder weapon was not proven to be in Riggs' hand, neither did the state show premeditation existed in this case.

After the state gave its final comments concerning the proof of premeditation, Judge Theodore Fleming excused himself to his chambers to review the evidence and make a decision.
