Beckie Jean (Ramsey) Janousek

Beckie Jean (Ramsey) Janousek, 82, of Mountain Home, passed away March 4, 2018. Beckie, the youngest child of Mat and Lottie Ramsey, was born Nov. 21, 1935 at the ranch in Little Valley, Owyhee County, Idaho.

After her mother passed away, she moved to Mountain Home to live with her oldest sister and brother-in-law, John and Elva Guisasola. She also spent many summer months with her sister and brother-in-law, Paul and Mattie Black.

Beckie attended school all twelve years at Mountain Home, graduating in 1954. She attended The College of Idaho, graduating in 1958 and taking a B.S. Degree in Health and Physical Education.

Beckie married Clarance D. Janousek, son of Joe and Anna Janousek, in Mountain Home on Aug. 18, 1957.

Her first teaching job was at Parma, Idaho. Clarance and Beckie moved to Pocatello in 1959 where Beckie taught three years at Irving Junior High while Clarance complete his BS degree in Education, graduating in 1962. They both took jobs with the Boise School District in 1962.

After their two children, Jay and Jana, were born, Beckie became a stay-at-home mom, working with the Church youth groups, cub and boy scouts, brownies and girl scouts, and volunteering in class rooms. Later she became supervisor of a pre-school gymnastic program at Gem State Gymnastic Academy.

Clarance and Beckie lived in Boise for 41 years before moving to Bruneau, Idaho in 2003. Beckie was a member of the Bruneau Community Church, Bruneau Ladies Aid, and Bruneau Booster Club.

Beckie is survived by her son Jay, and wife Stephanie, daughter Jana, and Jana’s sons Gavin and Kyle, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clarance of 56 years, three brothers (Champ, Albert, Tony) and five sisters (Elva Guisasola, Lee Taylor, Mildred Patterson, Bonnie Pascale and Mattie Black).

The family would like to thank the staff of Country Living Retirement Homes of Mountain Home for their care and kindness and also would like to recognize Treasure Valley Hospice for their dedication.

The funeral will be held at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey in Mountain Home with a viewing from 9-9:45 a.m., and funeral service at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 9, 2018. Burial will follow at Terrace Lawn Cemetery in Boise at 3 p.m., on Friday, March 9, 2018.
