Does the federal government have some explaining to do?

After a rocky three days for the American federal government, President Donald Trump has signed a stopgap spending bill, funding the government for the next three weeks and ending a lapse of appropriations that doesn't bode well for the 2018 legislative session.

A weekend aptly named the "Trump Shutdown" by many Democrats and the "Schumer Shutdown" by members of the Republican party, the passage of this legislation provides federal government funding through Feb. 8, allowing more time to examine the budget for fiscal year 2019 (FY19).
