On Jan. 7 the Idaho Army National Guard's 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team had a change of command ceremony at Gowen Field. The ceremony signified the transition between outgoing commander Col. Farin Schwartz and in coming commander Col. Scott Sheridan.

Col. Sheridan enlisted in the Oregon National Guard in 1987 and was commissioned as an armor officer in 1990 after completing the ROTC program upon graduating from Eastern Oregon State University.

In 1994 Col. Sheridan moved to Glenns Ferry, ID, where he was a school teacher and coach while commuting to Oregon to continue his service in the Oregon National Guard. For the full story, pick up a copy of the Mountain Home News or click on this link to subscribe to the newspaper's online edition.
