Looking back at all the year had to offer: From states of emergency to leadership turnover, 2017 turned us all on our heads

County Commissioners declared a state of emergency in February 2017 in order to receive state assistance for flood damage.

As the year winds down and comes to a close, it's time to reflect on the community's past. While in previous years the editorial staff has provided a description of the year's top 10 stories, that won't happen this year due to department turnover partway through the year.

Instead, the Mountain Home News' editorial staff has put together a timeline detailing the month's hottest topics. Some of the stories highlighted, such as a certain arrest, were not resolved this year, but will hopefully be resolved in 2018.
