Improvements at fairgrounds discussed by commissioners

County Commissioners met with county department heads at their meeting on Dec. 15.

Bill Richey, Governor's Special Assistant for Military Affairs, informed commissioners of the signing of the National Defense Authorization Act, signed by President Donald J. Trump, on Dec. 12. Included is the conveyance of the rail spur to the City of Mountain Home from the Mountain Home Air Force Base. The City of Mountain Home has been working to acquire the rail spur in an attempt to promote economic growth in Elmore County with the addition of an industrial park at the rail line.
