Andrea Mae Cagle

Andrea Mae Cagle, age 73, of Mountain Home, passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2017, at her home following an illness. Per her request, no services will be held. Cremation is under the care of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, in Mountain Home.

Andrea was born on January 7, 1944 in her aunt and uncle’s home in Drain, Oregon. She grew up there until she was 13 years of age. Raised as a country girl and a true “tomboy”. Her father Andrew passed away when she was 11, her mother met and married Ed Owens and the family moved to Mountain Home, Idaho. Her stepfather was in the Air Force and he was given orders to Spain, so the family moved to Spain where she resided for four and a half years.

Andrea met and married her first husband Michael Mendoza, Sr while in Spain. The couple was blessed with four children, Michael Jr., Rick, Christina, and Linda. Upon return to the US the family moved to California, where she resided in various cities throughout southern California. Michael and Andrea ended their marriage after 20 years. Moving back to Mountain Home, Andrea met the love of her life, Raymond Cagle. After a ten month courtship they exchanged vows and lived the rest of her life together and very happy.

Andrea was a truly devoted mother and homemaker. She was very crafty, she made many unique craft items and gave away more than she sold. She was a very good cook and seamstress (all self-taught). She has truly seen most of this world having lived in Oregon, Idaho, California, Spain, Okinawa Japan, New Mexico, and Nevada. Andrea touched many lives in her lifetime and many have touched her. Judy and Dave, Jon-Michael and Lorraine, aunt Frieda, mom Naslund, thank you all.

Andrea is survived by her husband Raymond Cagle of Mountain Home, her son Michael Mendoza, Jr of Colorado Springs, Colorado, daughters Christina Morris, of Ripon, California, Linda and Dave Messina, of Nampa, sister Betty and Don Shover of Payette, brother Andrew and Geri Nelson of Bothell, Washington, brother David Nelson, of Boise, and cousin Kathy and Rocky Adamson, of Twin Falls. Andrea was blessed with 18 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father Andrew Nelson, mother Wilma Owens, stepfather Ed Owns, and her son Rick Mendoza.

Thank you to everyone who was so kind to Andrea, especially Treasure Valley Hospice, Bobbie, Jamie and Stacey, you were and are amazing.
