Pong Sun was born in Nohwa-ri, Kyuam-myon, Puyo-kun, South Korea on November 19, 1942 to Won Kun Pak and Yong Sun Ch’oe. She was the 4th oldest of 9 children.

Pong Sun met her husband, William Brecheisen, in November of 1970, when he was stationed at Suwon Air Force Base, Korea. They were married on June 24, 1971, and recently celebrated 46 years of marriage together.

Pong Sun was a homemaker who enjoyed time with her family and close friends. She loved to fish and garden, harvesting enough to feed her community of friends and family many times over.

She also enjoyed cooking and eating, and sharing her love of food with others. She spent a lot of time in the mountains sight seeing, hunting, picking mushrooms and other vegetables. She delighted in bird watching and spending time spoiling her grandkids.

Many winters were spent in Arizona enjoying the warmer weather and flea market shopping so she could bring back gifts for others.

Pong Sun will be greatly missed by her loving husband, William Lee Brecheisen; two daughters, Sadina Brecheisen-Beach and Charon Knight; son-in-laws Alan Beach and James Knight; and her three grandchildren, Abigail Knight, Madelyne Knight and Nathan Beach. She is also survived by seven siblings.
