Oct. 27, 1943 - July 20, 2017

Robert G. (Bob) Faddis of Prairie, Idaho, departed this life on July 20, 2017, in Nampa, Idaho. After many years of medical issues, he is now free from pain and at peace.

Bob was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother. Most of all, he was a true friend and mentor to everyone who crossed his path.

Bob married his high school sweetheart, Elaine Davis, on June 19, 1965, and to this union, two beautiful daughters were born. Bob worked as a mechanic and a parts store owner (Indian Creek Service) in Kuna.

He was always available to help anyone with mechanical problems no matter the type of vehicle, although he would hassle you if it wasn’t a Ford. After retiring, he lived and worked on his 40 acres of paradise in Prairie, where he and Elaine were embraced and welcomed into the community.

While living in Kuna, he served on the city council, as mayor of Kuna, as the fire department commissioner and as a volunteer EMT. Later, moving to Prairie enabled him to participate in his favorite pastimes — hunting, fishing, riding horseback and working with cattle, all in the beautiful Idaho mountains.

Bob was preceded in death by his father, Gene and brother Larry Faddis. He is survived by his mother, Audrey Faddis of Kuna; wife of 52 years, Elaine Faddis of Prairie; daughter Anissa Faddis (Robert Watson) of Boise; and daughter Veronica Ellison (Jim) of Filer; four beloved grandchildren, Aria, Kynan, Alea and Layton; two brothers, Jim Short (Nena) of Boise, Leo Faddis of Kuna, and one sister, Joy Appell (Pete) of Richfield; and an abundance of much loved extended family.

A viewing for Bob will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2017, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, 500 North 18th East St., in Mountain Home. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 29, 2017, at 2 p.m. at The Journey, located at 9105 West Overland Road in Boise. All who were touched by his life are invited.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Prairie QRU and Fire in care of Mary Hanson, 1255 West Long Gulch Rd., Prairie ID, 83647.
