Kiersten Hughes walks with Electra as they approach the judges as they compete in the Elmore County 4-H horse show on Sunday at the Elmore County Fairgrounds. Hughes was one of several junior competitors that tested their showmanship skills during the mini horse event. Each competitor was judged on their ability to guide their horse through a series of basic commands that included having them stop and make a 180-degree turn. The competition was a lead-in to this year's fair and rodeo, which officially opens to the public today, July 19.
