Evacuation order lifted at Bruneau Sand Dunes Park

The Love Ridge Fire came close to the state park, but fire crews were able to keep the flames from entering its boundaries.

Authorities lifted an evacuation order at Bruneau Sand Dunes State Park after a range fire threatened the park over the weekend.

The Love Ridge Fire was contained at 6 p.m. Monday and was brought under control two hours later, according to information released by the Bureau of Land Management.

Triggered by a lightning strike, the fire had scorched more than 38,600 acres with crews using eight engines, two dozers, a water tender and three air tankers to fight the flames.
