A cheerleading demonstration is among the events planned during this year's Fourth of July Festival in the Park, scheduled for Tuesday in Carl Miller Park.

The Mountain Home community will enjoy a day of music, food and fun on Tuesday as people come together to celebrate this year's Fourth of July Festival in the Park.

The events begin at 8 a.m. that morning in Carl Miller Park as people begin to register for this year's "Wash and Shine Car Show."

Each year, the event includes between 30 to 50 vehicles of different years and models, including vintage street rods, motorcycles and foreign cars. Organizers ask those planning to enter their vehicles to have them in place by 9 a.m. that day.

According to Janice Ausburn, who is overseeing this year's park activities, judges will award 13 prizes to the top vehicles in various categories. In addition, former city mayor Joe McNeal will present the mayor's choice award.

A new tradition begins that day during the Little Miss and Mister Talent Show. Geared for boys and girls ages three to 16, the show will feature various types of musical and artistic talent. Registration for the show starts at 9 a.m. by the stage with children scheduled to perform at 11 a.m.

Other featured events include a performance by the Mountain Home cheer squad at 10 a.m. with a zumba demonstration set to follow at noon.

The festival will also feature food and beverages as well as a number of vendors along with D.J. music. Free bouncy houses will also be set up for children to enjoy.
