Amateur anglers during this year's community free fishing day event

"I got it!"

Abram Pedroza shouted in joy as the fishing bobber dipped below the water. Feeling the tension on the line, he started to reel in the length of twine that extended dozens of feet along the water.

His mother, Tiffany Belt, watched as her son landed the fish — a tiny bluegill no larger than the three year old's hand. A few seconds later, his father came and helped free the fish from the hook before the youngster continued to fish.

Riley Nicks is all smiles as she holds up her catch. Rules established by the Idaho Department of Fish and Game allowed people to keep any trout they landed while requiring them to release other fish back into the pond.
