Medal of Honor presented to county deputies

Recognizing their exceptional courage and bravery while protecting the public, two deputies with the Elmore County Sheriff's Office received the state's highest honor during a ceremony May 17 at the Idaho Capitol.

Deputy Mike Barclay and Sgt. Kyle Moore were among three peace officers that received the Idaho Law Enforcement, Firefighting and EMS Medal of Honor.

"There is no higher honor bestowed upon law enforcement by the State of Idaho than the Medal of Honor," said Attorney General Lawrence Wasden, who also serves as the chairman of the Medal of Honor Commission.
