For the students at Bennett Mountain High School, their academic career remained a mixture of frustration, disappointment and a long line of difficult choices. These teenagers who had to grow up quickly because they faced adult situations and decisions.

Two students of the alternative high school are among many others that overcame many of the difficulties of their upbringing. Some of it they brought on themselves through bad choices. Other times, it was inflicted on them.

In each case, their stories have a common theme — an epiphany that may have saved their future.
