Mountain Home troop wins Camp Wilson title

Members of Troop 57 from Mountain Home present the colors during the opening ceremony of this year's Camp Wilson program.

For the second straight year, Troop 57 from Mountain Home earned top honors in an overall competition among Boy Scouts during the 70th Annual Camp Wilson Camporee, which wrapped up May 7.

The crowd enjoyed excellent weather and live music as troops representing communities across southern Idaho initially gathered at the Boy Scout jamboree site between Pine and Featherville to participate in this year's camp.

However, the troops were moved from their planned campsites to higher ground earlier due to concerns of rising river levels caused by melting snow from this year's record-setting winter.
