Sheriff: Avoid traveling to flooded areas

Elmore County Sheriff Mike Hollinshead urges residents and visitors to avoid traveling to communities and campsites in the mountains north of Mountain Home due to massive flooding that has stricken the region in recent days.

Due to heavy winter snow in the mountains of Elmore County, combined by the spring thaw, flooding in the area has become a significant issue as the water levels rise.

Roads have washed out in the Pine and Featherville area. Multiple logging roads, including Bumgardner Road and Snoot Creek Road, remain closed due to flooding that has washed out roadways.
