WECRD meeting ends abruptly fueling public outcry

A series of new project suggestions dealing primarily with city parks were overshadowed by a heated discussion after the head of the Western Elmore County Recreation District abruptly ended a meeting March 22 without allowing the public's input.

Arguments worsened as citizens protested being ignored as board president Art Nelson turned off the sound system.
