School district plans cuts at MHHS, MHJHS

Local elementary schools are dealing with overcrowded classrooms, particularly at the second and third grade levels. The plan introduced by school district superintendent James Gilbert would allow the district to hire more teachers to address this concern.

Seeking ways to deal with overcrowded classrooms in the city's elementary schools, the Mountain Home School District plans to cut two teaching positions at the secondary level.

District superintendent James Gilbert delivered the news as he addressed the school board during its monthly meeting March 21.
