Firefighters return from Stairclimb challenge

Elsa Guillen participated in the 26th Annual Scott Firefighter Stairclimb by bringing with her two reminders of those who lost their fight against cancer. She scaled the 69-floor building while carrying a photo of Mike Reynolds, who joined his wife to create a yearly golf tournament that raises money for cancer research and treatment before he died from the disease in 2015. Guillen also had with her a photo of her cousin, Lupe Juarez, who recently lost her battle against cancer.

Two representatives from the Mountain Home Fire Department tackled a yearly challenge that will help in the ongoing quest to find a cure for various types of cancer.

Elsa Guillen and Hank Patrick were among the nearly 1,800 individuals competing in the 26th Annual Scott Firefighter Stairclimb, held at the Columbia Center in Seattle on March 12.
