Library board rejects recreation district's offer

The proposal introduced to the Mountain Home Public Library by the Western Elmore County Recreation District sought to provide up to $30,000 in funding to provide library cards to people who live outside of city limits but fall within the district's boundaries.

Plans to provide library cards for residents outside of city limits officially came to an end after the Mountain Home Public Library Board officially turned down the request during a meeting March 16.

The proposal introduced recently by the Western Elmore County Recreation District sought to provide up to $30,000 in funding to offer "scholarships" in the form of library cards to these residents.
