Parks & rec plan draws criticism at council meeting

Concerns over a plan to restructure the city's parks and recreation department and rumors of its impact on local youth programs highlighted topics addressed by the city council during a meeting March 13.

A group of concerned citizens attended the meeting to air questions regarding the decision to appoint two people to head different portions of the city agency following the recent retirement of former director Stan Franks.
