Hunter McCluskey, Dylan Park, Pierce Mederios and Alex Castro went undefeated during their appearance at a wrestling meet held last week at Pocatello High School.

The Mountain Home Tigers came away with four undefeated wrestlers while finishing second overall as they competed in a tournament last week at Pocatello High School.

Mountain Home competed against 13 other schools in a team dual format tournament trailed by just three points in their quest for top honors among the other teams.

However, coach Scott Mederios said the Tigers gave up 18 points as a result of forfeits due to injuries and weight issues among its athletes.

The Mountain Home team shut out Century, 66-0, while dominating teams from Hillcrest, Preston, Sugar and Teton. The Tigers trailed Highland, 37-42, and edged Pocatello, 39-36.

Those going undefeated during the meet were Pierce Mederios, Hunter McCluskey, Dylan Park and Alex Castro. In addition, Mederios was voted the tournament's outstanding wrestler, which is voted on by the head coaches of each team.

In two of his matches, Mederios beat a defending state champion and a state runner-up from last year.

Meanwhile, Kanoa Doronio was also undefeated with a 4-0 record while Timothy Goodell went 6-1. Those posting 5-2 records were Jacob Herrboldt, Zach Slack, Tyler Hardin, Jayden Sexton and Jonathon Kaiser with Kobie Jewett and Haydon Keierleber going 4-3.

Mederios finished his high school wrestling career with a record of 167-5, which is the most wins in the high school's history. According to his family, he achieved that feat while maintaining a 4.0 grade-point average.
