ITD outlines tips for drivers to deal with wintry roads

With southern Idaho continuing to deal with winter weather this month, the Idaho Department of Transportation outlined ways that people can stay safe when traveling on snow- and ice-covered roadways.

"Preparation and situational awareness are two strategies to help ensure safe winter driving, not just for yourself but the other motorists on the road," said Jim Carpenter, ITD chief operations officer. "Ensure your vehicle is up to the challenge of winter driving before you leave, and be attentive while on the road.
