Dear editor,

Two years ago this time, I was learning lines for a junior high play, The Lady Pirates of Captain Bree directed by Mrs. Zielke. I was hoping to be in two more plays. However, for reasons unexplained to the students, there were no more junior high plays.

This is extremely unfortunate in many ways. Time management is one of them. It takes time to learn lines properly. When you wait until the last minute, you struggle to remember your lines when they are needed. If you don't learn them before the performance, it would ruin the show and others would get frustrated at you.

I learned about being part of a team. I learned that as a team, stuff can get done and stuff can get done well. It effects the way you think about what you are doing and how you are doing it. It also builds connections and helps to make you feel as though you are part of something.

I urge the leadership of the school to reconsider the end of this activity. Not everyone can be part of the athletic team or music team.
