Promoting firearm safety

Sunday, December 25, 2016

Police Cpl. Stan Winings meets with kindergarten and first grade students at Richard McKenna Montessori School on Dec. 14 to discuss firearms safety as part of the city police department's Eddie Eagle program. During his presentation, Winings asked the students what they should do if they see a gun that's left unattended. The response by the children is the same message the national firearms safety program emphasizes -- "Stop, don't touch, run away, tell a grown up."
